Screen Printing
Silk screen printing, also known as screen printing or serigraphy, is a popular method of printing designs onto various surfaces, including fabrics, paper, metal, and plastic. It involves creating a stencil, traditionally made of silk but now commonly made of polyester, which is stretched tightly over a frame. To perform silk screen printing, the stencil is placed on top of the material to be printed, and ink is applied over the stencil using a squeegee. The ink passes through the open areas of the stencil, transferring the design onto the surface below. Each color in the design requires a separate stencil, and the process is repeated for each color, layering them to achieve the desired result. Silk screen printing is known for its versatility and durability. It can produce vibrant, long-lasting prints with excellent color opacity. It allows for precise control over ink thickness and can be used to create intricate designs, solid colors, and even special effects. Silk screen printing is commonly used in the production of apparel, promotional products, signage, and artwork.
